An additional 1 percent accommodations tax is levied on all short-term lodging (30 days or less), with revenues dedicated to above-ground amenities that benefit the recreation and lodging industries. In 2004, a local marketing district was established, which assesses a 2% lodging tax within the district to pay for direct air service to the valley.
